Walid is a development director and architect by training with more than 25 years of experience in Saudi Arabia’s built environment. He has worked on the client, consultant, and contractor sides, giving him a practical understanding of how local market dynamics, public approvals, commercial decisions, and delivery constraints shape what gets built.
His work spans large-scale mixed-use districts, infrastructure, public realm, cultural and community assets, and strategic portfolios. At Diriyah Company, he provides portfolio-wide leadership across public realm and infrastructure interfaces. Earlier work with JLL, Assystem Radicon, and AECOM included strategic development and design management for projects and programs associated with KAFD, SPARK, Misk City, Ministry of Interior facilities, and a nationwide schools program.
Walid brings local knowledge to the task of aligning stakeholders and managing multidisciplinary teams of Saudi, regional, and international consultants. His focus is on the decisions that connect strategy to execution: development governance, procurement, design coordination, risk, operational readiness, and the realities of working across complex organizations and authorities.

His portfolio work places technology, sustainability, and the quality of public realm alongside commercial and delivery priorities. He works across Smart Cities, digital infrastructure, BIM and information management, and sustainable, resilient development. He also follows how proptech and AI can be integrated thoughtfully into planning, design, construction, and the operation of places.

Walid was named among the Saudi 100 in 2026. The Qurain Mosque project was recognized as Sustainable Project of the Year at the Construction Technology KSA Awards in 2025.
Through speaking engagements and courses, he shares perspectives on navigating the Saudi market, leading complex developments, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and applying digital and sustainable approaches in the built environment.
